Kites ride the wind
like birds

as I watch my good friend

hold
an invisible string

Walking gracefully

she names
constellations

pointing
to them
with her toes

1st Temperament j

So many stars
in this sky

is it the same one

used
to cover my city

1st Temperament i

Black birds
in a muddy river

knowing you love flight

I never thought
you could swim

1st Temperament h

Distant anger sounds

making a scar
in the sky

as birds fly
straight up

1st Temperament g

In clouded sunshine

the new leaves
of dancing trees

are thoughts
unfinished

1st Temperament f

Snows fading away

much like
flowers and youth or

quiet reflections

1st Temperament e

A warm winter day

the wind forces trees
to bow

obsequiously

1st Temperament d

Their dead blades freezing

the roots of grass
must find warmth

in dreams of summer

1st Temperament c

Spending time
talking to fish

or searching for
lost plants

I slow down
to the speed of growth

1st Temperament b

Consider
our earths roundness

as the sun rises

and morning breezes
whisper

1st Temperament a

To form
and reform

so many reasons
to touch

a dream
still dreaming

25th Anniversary

The year 2013 marks the 25th anniversary of the publication of my book of poetry "Auspicious Circumstance" and I plan to celebrate by sharing one poem at a time from the book in order here. I will also include something to look at. Since I am not a huge fan of illustrated poetry (sorry dear friend) the "illustrations" will not attempt to further the words but just accompany them along the way. It will also give you more than one chance to like the post each time. If two chances are not enough to find something you like while going through the book please comment and I will attempt to up the offering. Within reason of course.

There will also be a 25th Anniversary Edition sometime soon.  Nothing too fancy but just one more way for me to celebrate.  My celebrations will be ways for me to get back into the habit of writing daily. I have actually put newer written works on this blog in the past and once I have gone through the book I hope to add many more.
