Purple Heart Setcreasea

Twenty or so years ago I found a small piece of purple vine on a sidewalk that turned into this plant in my window.  This plant is the beginning of many years of porches (my own and others) full of setcreasea pallida and this year I have thirteen more large pots of this purple vine brought in from the cold.
This is one of the first photos I liked when I decided to take up photography again.  I have taken many more photos of purple heart since then and will post a couple of recent ones that I like.

NYC CP The Pond

At the edge of The Pond in Central Park I found the contrast between the trees and buildings was impossible to ignore.  The snow on the branches was a bit difficult to pass up too.

The Pond

Having spent many of my formative years in rural Kentucky it has always seemed odd to me that this body of water in Central Park in the middle of Manhattan is called The Pond.  I have always enjoyed the contrast.

Remembering

I used to be in NYC for a weekend of work every March.  If I wanted to get the feel of being in The City it had to happen early in the morning or in the evening.  The photos I took were usually in the morning and snow in Central Park made for an excellent subject.

Fuji 4X5 Instant Color

This photo "Outside My Front Door" is one of the first 4X5s where I was getting a correct exposure.  I decided I liked the film and using my new Fuji 4X5 back and when I ordered more film it was already discontinued.

Spring Grove 5a

This is another 4X5 Fuji instant color photo that was in the show Permission 7 (beyond my own boundaries) that is officially closed although some photos are still hanging probably through this week.  This one "Spring Grove 5a" has found a new home and I wanted to share it before it got away.
